Food Gadget of the Month: Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker

posted by

DinnerBeat's gadget of the month for July certainly gives new meaning to "playing with your food." You and the kids can beat the summer heat, while having a ball with the Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker.

According to the website, all you need is some ice, rock salt, cream, sugar, vanilla and a "group of friends" and you'll have some delicious home made ice cream in less than 30 minutes.

How does is work?

One end of the ball is filled with rock salt and ice. Then, you fill the other end with the cream, vanilla and sugar, plus any flavorings into the other end (you can check out some recipes here). Then, the fun begins! Just toss the ball around for around 30 minutes (stopping after 10 minutes to mix up the ice cream) and voila! Home made ice cream!

Try this cool gadget at your next barbecue or beach party!
